" I can’t imagine my life without her and I don’t know how I made it so long not having her to hold."

Note from Tina:

We enjoy sharing the letters we get and pictures too. Thanks to our adoptive parents for sharing!

A little history...

Katie, my friend from Adoptions from the Heart, is an amazing mom of 17 children. Some are grown and some are babies and some are in-between. She and her husband, Dale, always have room in their home and their hearts for these children. I admire her parenting skills (not going a little crazy and functioning while being sleep deprived are high on the list of things she does well). You don’t even want to hear about the production of meals or processing of laundry (they have their own built-in laundry mat!). You may have followed Katie and Dale’s adoption journey in past newsletters.

A while ago, Katie and Dale decided they’d like to adopt an infant, as most of their children were older when they found their way home. So, the search was on. They were very open to minority infants and just wanted a chance to make a difference in a child’s life. They adopted little Mia using A Labor of Love, but God had something more in store for them. About the time they were getting baby Mia, a call came through that they had no idea would ever come. They had been on a list for a long time to adopt from Ethiopia. Of course they were thrilled and of course they’d love to have another baby! That was Katie’s dream.

Imagine their surprise when they were told they were getting twin girls! When Katie told me about Ethiopia, I told her, “You’d better get a triplet stroller”, as the girls are only a couple of months apart. She shot back “Oh I already did…found one last Summer at a yard sale”. I asked why she would do that, not knowing she was going to have more than one infant. Her answer, “God told me to”. From your mouth to God’s ears, Katie!

Note from Katie & Dale:

Dear Tina:

I’ve told you thank you before, but I can never say it enough. I can’t tell you how much we all adore Miss Mia. She is such a special little girl! She laughs all the time and is my biggest fan, despite how corny my jokes are. She loves life and everyone that meets her is taken in by her charms. I can’t imagine my life without her and I don’t know how I made it so long not having her to hold. What a gift! I still stand by her crib watching her sleep in amazement that she is mine.

When I walk into the nursery and now and see all three of my darlings, I am overwhelmed by God’s goodness and grace. He has blessed us far beyond anything I could ever dream or imagine. God is good! Tina, so many people don’t understand us or why we have this “large” family, but you do. You get us, and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for understanding, participating, and your friendship, which means so much to me. I hope you enjoy the pictures! Thank you again for everything. I love you to pieces.
